Found More Than I Anticipated

I love lines! In downtown Woonsocket, there is an old Providence to Worcester train station. The interior of the station is very cool - the second photo shows the beam of the ceiling. I also found some cool spider webs on some decorative railings.

Forgotten Town

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but I like to photograph pretty things. So, I challenged myself to do something different today. Tonight, I went into an older part of the town I live in. There are many vacant, decrepit store fronts from years passed abandoned over the years.

Sick Days

Sunday and monday I was sick and was just an absolute slouch around the house. This was the extent of my cooking as well as my photography over those two days.

Getting Ready for the Party

Friday

I'm a little late in posting the past few days of photos. Friday night I did a little shooting in town on my way home.

Wickford Harbor

Tonight was another night that looked like it was going to rain, and another gorgeous night of clouds!

I only had ten minutes to shoot down in Wickford Harbor before going to dinner at the in-laws. I wasn't certain what I was going to get in that short of time, but I was beyond delighted with the afternoon light.

The top three photos are very similar. I couldn't decide which one I liked best, so I included my favorite three. Let me know which one you like!

Fabulous Old Cars!

I LOVE classic cars! I drive by this restoration shop every day on my way to work, so on my way home tonight, I stopped and asked to shoot the cars in the lot. The cars are just absolutely gorgeous. The details in old cars is amazing - look at the sick grills on the Impala and Cadillac.

I couldn't get any good shots of the cars by themselves, b/c they're all parked right next to each other, or have a nice dumpster behind them; so I focused on the amazing details of the cars instead.

When I was almost done outside, it was recommended to go inside and ask to see the yellow cadillac. It is an absolutely beautiful restoration down to purple interior with remotely opened doors.

The Big City

After work, I headed down to Providence. It looked like it was going to rain, but it ended up being a great night to shoot. The clouds were amazing!

And then we were off to dinner to the Trinity Brewhouse.

Out and About in Town

I didn't want to go too far from home tonight to do my shooting, so I just wandered around town.

Day One - Part II

Bristol, RI. Jill came up with the idea to shoot bubbles against the setting sun. It was a fun challenge, and I think it might turn into a series.

Day One

I went to a friend's son's baptism party at her house and they had a bouncy house that my godson LOVED!
This is hilarious!!

New to the Blog Land

I am a full-time commercial photographer by day.  I shoot for someone else all day long, so I've decided to challenge myself to get out my own camera every day for the next 30 days and shoot something that's just for myself (I would love to say for longer, but I want to be realistic starting out in this adventure).

I started the challenge yesterday, and it's very invigorating.  I'll be posting those photos later today.  My hope is to become more inspired, challenged and become more creative in my personal work, and in my day-to-day job as a result as well.

Let's see how I do....
